3D Valentine Fan Art by leojones 3D Valentine Fan Art by leojones
Here is my 3D version of Valentine, the deadly nurse from the game SkullGirls. Made in Blender and rendered with Cycles.
Took quite a while to get her hair right, but at least I learned a lot from it, and I'll need to be very skilled with hair if I ever decide to make a 3D version of Filia.

Wow, this is quite the piece! Her hair and eyes are amazingly done, the pose is great, the lab looks menacing and high quality, and she looks beautiful! This actually looks better than most 3-D art out there, so well done! :)

I was hoping I could ask you a bolt question,
Do you happen to distribute the model? I really want to pratice posing and picture making in 3Ds Max (rendersettings ect.), but I never seem to finish a model properly. I read in another comment about the high polycount, for 3Ds Max, this is no problem. I have also read you do not distribute this models to just everybody. I'm hoping you can make an exeption if you are credited properly and if I do not redistribute any of the files. I have been looking for a good 3D Valentine model to pratice with, this one looks great. I also read that not all your models are finished, some are not on parts you can not see. I can carefully hide this parts in a picture or adjust the model a little bit if needed.

If you will allow me, I would need a .FBX files (I read you can import them to .Max files here:…
and maybe a .OBJ file if I may not be able to get the .FBX to work (I never had to import a Blender scene).

I would be honored if I could use the model for my pratice. It looks amazing.

Kind Regards,

This is sweet! :happybounce:
You should see my model of Cerebella

I've seen plenty of other 3D models of the Skullgirls characters, and it's interesting how each one is in a slightly different style. Some are low-poly cartoony versions with textures matching the 2D versions, others are a 3D model with 2D cartoon effects (like yours), and others are hyper-realistic detailed 3D models, some matching the original design, and some with a differently stylised design.

I'll probably make my own version of Cerebella eventually, but don't worry about me copying your work, as I will be making it in my own style (somewhere between realistic and cartoony, like my previous models).

Nice. I was thinking about getting this on Steam.

Hey I'm a 3D model porter for source engine, I've been working on a Skullgirls model pack, but have only had the luck to find a model of Peacock that I ported a while back. Could you possibly send me the Skullgirls models you've made so far and then I can port them for use in Garry's Mod and Source Film Maker? I got a fanbase of a steam group begging me for them and all. Please keep in mind that source cannot handle fur particles, so you'll have to redo the hair as mesh if possible. Export them as .obj as well, and I'll be able to port them for use in Garry's Mod and Source Film maker. If I must pay you somehow to do so, please keep in mind the finished compiled and ported models will be uploaded for free download in the Steam Workshop once the pack is completed.

These models are not well-suited for real-time use, as they have a high polygon count (even with subdivision surfaces turned off), they have mostly solid-color textures and the rigs are not optimized (many joints were tweaked after the pose was set and I used cloth simulation to adjust clothing, such as Squigly's skirt and sleeves).

They would need a LOT of work before they could be used as game models, I'd have to remake most of the mesh topology (not just add a hair mesh), and there are other things I'd rather do right now (such as work on making detailed models of the other characters).

If you want low-poly models of Skullgirls characters, I'd suggest you talk to the makers of these three low-poly textured models: Valentine; Parasoul; Filia

I can do all that, i'll decimate them if I have to and even try making the hair myself. And don't worry about bones or rigs cause i'm gonna have to replace the skeletons anyways if they are to be ported into source engine. At least give me something to work with. I get a model ported just about everyday to keep my steam group's mouth's shut, so it's probably something i'm more than capable of doing.

As I have already answered to another commenter, I do not intend to release these models for just anyone to use. They were each created specifically for their respective renders (some are even unfinished in parts not shown), for the purpose of practicing character modeling and scene composition and to pay homage to the game.

Once I feel I've done enough characters, I may go back to the old ones and make new renders, maybe some animation, and maybe, later on, I MIGHT even do low-poly versions of each one with the intention of releasing them (if I feel enough people would want them). Either way, I'd rather have the final say in the design of the models before releasing them, if I ever choose to do so.

Should you want to make your own Valentine model, using this model sheet is a good way to start (it helped a lot with mine).

Wow.  This looks like it was ripped straight from a 3D cartoon adaption of Skullgirls.  Hope you plan to make a LOT of pictures as good as this one!

She is really cool not sure if I would want her as my nurse or not as she looks kinda scary in some sense, I mean she has a damn needle with green stuff in and an eye patch.
